Overnight Stay Addendum

Memorandum of Understanding

Subject:  Overnight Pet Sitting Visits

Pet Net understands that overnight pet sitting is a special obligation.  Clients who request these visits have a higher need and expectation for personal care for their pets and their home.

Pet sitters will adhere to the following guidelines for overnight visits:

Ø      Length of visits:  Pet sitters must arrive at the home at the proper time.  Our Client Services and Policies state the term of visits are from7 pm thru 7 am.  If necessary a pet sitter may do the evening visit at 5:30 pm or so and then leave to eat dinner or perform other visits.  Sitter must, however, return to the home by approximately 8:30 pm and remain until morning.

Ø      No one may enter the home other than the assigned pet sitter or Pet Net staff member (if required).

o       Spouses may become a member of the Pet Net staff to be covered by the bonding and insurance and enter the homes during pet sitting assignments.

o       Pet sitter may not allow anyone to enter the home without permission from the owner.  This includes relatives, children, friends, workmen, ex-spouse, etc.  During the interview the client will inform the pet sitter in writing if anyone else is allowed access to the home.  If someone other than these people request to enter the home the pet sitter is to call the client to get his or her verbal permission and deny access without that permission.

Ø      Communications:

o       Sitters will not answer client’s telephones because they could improperly record an important message.  Clients can then access their voicemail remotely to retrieve messages.

o       Pet sitters must be accessible during the time of the visits by cell phone.  If sitter does not have a cell phone the client can identify a time to call (i.e. 9 pm) and request the pet sitter to answer their home for that call.  Alternatively, the pet sitter can call the client from their home at a prescribed time.

Ø      Use of home appliances:  Normally pet sitters are allowed to use items necessary for living such as coffee pots, microwaves, and cooking utensils.  Pet sitters are not allowed to use the homeowner’s computer without express permission.

Ø      Pet sitters are expected to provide their own food and drinks.  Pet sitters are not allowed to smoke or consume alcoholic beverages during the visits.
